She's First Class!

We are thrilled to share that Emily-Jane Dale, co-founder of Auntie’s Cookery Academy, has been awarded First Class Honours for her BSc in Future Food & Culinary Management.

Emily achieved this milestone while juggling three years of study alongside running her own business, Auntie Em’s Kitchen, and founding Auntie’s Cookery Academy. It’s a remarkable achievement that speaks to her dedication, resilience, and passion for using food as a tool for positive change.

Her dissertation explored how culinary skills impact confidence, independence, and wellbeing - a perfect reflection of the work we aim to do at the Academy. The research now provides an evidence-based framework for our programmes, helping us refine our courses, measure impact, and ensure every session truly supports young people in gaining the skills and confidence to take control of their lives.

It’s inspiring to see the threads of Emily’s study woven directly into the heart of our charity - strengthening our mission and shaping the next chapter for Auntie’s Cookery Academy.

Well done, Em!
