A Fresh Brand for Auntie's Cookery Academy

Why our rebrand feels like an important step in our journey

Every organisation grows up a little over time, and this year felt like the moment for us to lift our head, take stock and think carefully about who we’re becoming.

That’s why we’re genuinely excited to share our refreshed brand identity. It’s bold, a bit playful, and very much rooted in the work we do with young people.

Our new logo brings together illustrated icons, warm colours and a style that feels welcoming rather than polished for the sake of it. The palette has been chosen with intention too. Deep, confident tones with small sparks of energy here and there, a bit like the food we love and the people who shape our work. It’s not a reinvention, really. More of a quiet evolution of the values we’ve had since day one.

This change comes after a year of fairly big steps behind the scenes. Our three trustees, Emily-Jane Dale, Annabelle (Belle) Lawrence and Elizabeth Micklem, have steered the organisation through growth, uncertainty and a steady strengthening of our mission. Their commitment has helped us keep moving in the right direction, even when things felt a little overwhelming.

We’ve also been building relationships that matter. AKG, led by Debbie Gardiner MBE, continues to be a constant source of support. And we’re starting a new chapter with YMCA Northampton, where we’ll be delivering sessions from 10 July. It feels like the kind of partnership that can genuinely help us reach the young adults who need this work most.

And of course, a huge thank you to our design partner, Matt Plummer at Great Business Services. He took our ideas, our slightly chaotic notes, and all the emotion behind them, and shaped it into something that feels both professional and personal.

All of this is happening as we wait to finalise our Charitable Incorporated Organisation status, which should give us a sturdier foundation for the years ahead.

Because at the heart of everything is the same simple mission: to help young people take control of their future through food. Real skills, real confidence, and a sense of independence that can’t be taken away.

As we look ahead, we’re actively seeking partners, sponsors and supporters who believe in the power of food education. If you’re a business, a foundation or simply someone who wants to invest in genuine change in Milton Keynes, we’d love to start a conversation.

The door is open. And with our new look, it feels like the right moment to invite more people in.
